Early Drone Detection in Complex Environments
A tethered fiber-optic drone approaches a military base through buildings and trees. Radar-based detection units and an acoustic sensor are deployed along the perimeter.
While radar systems rely on transmitted RF signals that can be obstructed, reflected, or scattered by surrounding structures and vegetation, the drone continuously generates a distinct acoustic signature during flight. The acoustic sensor passively detects and analyzes this sound in real time, enabling reliable early detection even in complex environments.
Using long-range passive listening and AI-driven acoustic analysis, the system provides persistent drone detection and extends situational awareness before the threat reaches the target area.
DUMBO Filters False Detections, Leaving Only Real Threats
Drone detection systems based on non-acoustic sensors often detect large numbers of potential targets within a monitored area, creating excessive alerts and operational overload.
DUMBO adds an acoustic verification layer by directing focused acoustic analysis toward each detected target. Non-threatening objects – such as birds – are filtered out from the system view, leaving only verified drone threats.
